I’ve decided to acquaint myself with the “rules” of writing a blog. Whenever I think of the word Blog itself I think of the movie Julie and Julia. And Amy Adams perky voice runs through my mind with her description of yummy things to eat (random thought: I’ve always wanted to try bruschetta). What also comes to mind is The Devil Wears Prada… oddly. It had nothing to do with blogging but I think I relate the two things together because they have a similar “veil”. They both portray an elegance (is class the right word?) of unattainable status. It takes a lot of hard work to get what you want out of this world and I guess that’s maybe the thought that underlines all three movies for me. We all have means of using our voice, but do we use it correctly to get what we want? Blogging: a distraction from the real world but can have its connections/pros. Am I using my voice in the best way I can?
In the words of Amy Adams: is there anyone out there?
Just got my fine paid for some late books at the library. I haven’t checked out a library book in about two months. Fulfilling my craving for adventure with this book by Michelle Zink. Kind of different and kind of cliche at the same time, I’m only half way through. Supposedly there is a sequel. Question is, will it be worth the time reading?
I have a lot to do today…and for the next couple of weeks. It makes my brain hurt just thinking about it. College…future….career. If my thoughts were a google search engine that would probably be the first links that pop up.
Books are always a great escape or means of procrastination.
First off- I don’t really expect to be followed. This is more for my benefit to stall going to bed. It’s always hard to get that sleepy feeling for me. It usually comes around 3 am however. So pretty much the description says it all; this is the mind vomit of a night owl. Maybe I can just find that sense of losing myself and my thoughts on here. We shall see…I correct myself…I shall see how this goes.
However, if you stumble upon me and like my mind vomit…well I’m sure there will be plenty to share.
As a side note, I can not get enough of either this gif or Lana Del Ray’s video Blue Jeans. She definitely is an odd one. But I like the darkness of her video. It reminds me of all the times when I played in the pool as a kid and as the sun would start to set some of the pool would become shaded. I would start to imagine things in the shade. Not long after I would decide I was done swimming for the day. Her video was just a wonderful projection of that memory.
And very first….I mean VERY FIRST hashtag (and I’ll be weird and over do it):
